| 14-12-2007 | kt@yellowcard | | “If Ocean Avenue was about finding your place in the world and Lights and Sounds is about realizing that you’ve gotten lost, Paper Walls is about what happens when you find yourself again,” Says Ryan Key. “Before we started this record, everything in our lives was changing. But after a bit of struggling, I finally found a place where I’m comfortable in my own skin. We know who we are and who we want to be.” “For the first time in a long time we were in our own little world making a record that we were having fun with,” Key says. “There was no pressure. There was nobody waiting to see what Yellowcard would do next. This record was a totally positive experience and it reminded us of why started doing this in the first place.” IS NOT DUDE THAT YELLOWCARD IS THE BEST BAND EVER.....ROCK IS NOT DEAD........ |

| 01/07/2008 | Carolinka | YC Rocks the Gulf | Rock band Yellowcard will soon travel to the Persian Gulf and perform for service men and women as part of a USO/MNC- I expeditionary entertainment tour. This is the first USO tour for Yellowcard, who will hang out with armed forces, sign autographs and treat U.S. troops to a selection of hit songs from all their albums. Their latest album "Paper Walls" debuted at no. 13 on the Billboard charts and sold more than 40,000 copies in its first week. Recognized for their trademark sound infused with entwined guitar lines, airtight vocal harmonies and flourishes of violin, Yellowcard has performed before millions, acquired thousands of devoted fans and toured hundreds of venues. The recipient of an MTV Video Music Award, Yellowcard has also encountered countless breakout successes. The band's hit single "Gifts and Curses" was featured in the blockbuster film "Spider-Man 2" and their song "Breathing" is featured in Electronic Arts' futuristic video game "Burnout Revenge." "We're really excited about going to the Middle East with the USO and performing for the troops," says Yellowcard frontman Ryan Key. "It's a privilege to have the opportunity to visit and entertain those that serve our nation. This tour isn't just a treat for them but also for us." |
| 01/14/08 | Carolinka | Home Safe | This past week has been quite an experience. Sean, Mendez, and myself travelled to the Middle East to perform for our service men and women stationed there. It was 19 hours of flying each way and we just got back today. While we were there we had been scheduled to play in Kuwait the first day and then head north into Iraq for the rest of the trip. At the last minute the President came in after his visit to Israel which made it impossible to get a flight north. All of the resources there were being used for security. So we made some changes and ended up playing the bases in and around Kuwait instead. Even though we didn't get to be in Iraq and fire machine guns out of the sides of helicopters and drive tanks(which were just a couple of the things we were hoping to do), it was still an amazing trip for the three of us. We played the shows acoustic which gave us the chance to really hang out with the troops during the show. We really felt like we were bringing a piece of home to them and could tell how grateful they were to spend some time away from their normal routine. We have never held our tongues when it came to our feelings about the war in Iraq, however we have always said that although we may not support the entire mission, we will always support the men and women who are there. We would like to thank everyone there that came to the shows and especially those that took care of us while we were there. It was something we will remember for as long as we live. We wish only for everyone there to return home safe. -Ryan |
